Jackie Mitchell was a minor league pitcher for the Chattanooga Lookouts in 1931. She was going to pitch against the New York Yankees who had Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. She was going to have to pitch very good to strike them out.She ended up striking both of them out. She was very brave.

I learned that not all of the colonist were happy with paying taxes. I experienced my classmates not wanting to pay their mints for the taxes. I also learned that they had no choice whether to pay or not, otherwise they would be put in jail for not paying the taxes.

In 2014 my 10u White Oak all star team won the Texas state championship in Texarcana. We had to beat Union Grove twice without losing, because it was double elimination and we had already lost one game. The first game was really tough but we came out with a win. Then the championship came the next day it was a very tough game but we won. we were so happy. The next week we had to play a series against West Rusk for nationals. It was the first team to two wins. The first game west rusk won. The  second game we won. The next game whoever won would win nationals. We won that game too. We were so happy. We got a flag that said state champions on it. In 2015 I hope to make all stars and win state again.
